DE50 - HMAS Swan
Australian built Destroyer Escort - Vietnam War era.
Model is 1:48 scale 2,400 mm long. Hull is fibreglass laid up using an original plug mould from Williamstown Naval Dockyard, Melbourne. The author worked at the dockyard for several very interesting years - some might say, too interesting.

12cc Sidevalve engine driving DC dynamo into switchboard. Electric start. Inspired by the Ronaldson & Tippet Gensets that were made in Ballarat, Australia and used on outback farms and cattle stations for 32 volt lighting.
Wimmera 4
Early photo of a 25cc OHC four cylinder petrol engine as built in 1979. It was a very difficult motor to get to run, so sat in a box until found in 2010 and rebuilt.
Engine Names. The motors are all named after Australian Aboriginal place names:
-Murra Wurra V12 - A place with no water - the authors childhood home was on wheat farm located in Murra Wurra.
- Wallup - located north of Murra Wurra on Warracknabeal Road.
- Wimmera - the name given by the Jardwadjali people to the river of that name.
